NOMIS TECHNOLOGY

AUTOMATION

Nomis has partnered with an innovative European greenhouse technology company, Green Automation Export Oy (GAE) and has acquired the exclusive global rights for cannabis production on its leading-edge, fully robotic technology platform.

The robotic systems will dramatically reduce labour costs and increased profitability while allowing higher quality. These type of cutting edge greenhouse technology are used extensively in the greenhouse food sector in Europe.

Key features:

  • Energy-efficient concept for a closed indoor
  • More cannabis flowers while using less space and resources
  • Automation of plant handling, harvesting and packaging
  • Dramatic reduction of water and fertilizers
  • Safer and higher grade cannabis products

LIGHTING TECHNOLOGIES FOR CANNABIS PRODUCTION

Lights are the most energy-intensive component in cannabis indoor production facility. Nomis lighting system is designed to significantly reduce energy consumption while optimizing cannabis yield and quality.

Key features:

  • Reduction of energy costs
  • Optimum light recipes
  • Stimulation of plant growth and quality

Nomis is using the best possible energy efficient lighting plan for its cannabis plants using spectra designed to optimize growth and cannabinoid production.

  • Light Emitting Diode (LED) energy efficient lighting system with proven light recipes that are able to produce consistently more cannabis flowers dry biomass with high cannabinoid content.
  • Double ended version HPS fixtures with a high efficiency, low heat emission and optimum cooling system combining the highest reliability and longest operating life.
  • More lights due to double ended design
  • Very effective light distribution
  • Lighting plan calculation for the cloning, vegetative and flowering rooms

CULTURAL PRACTICES FOR MAXIMIZING CANNABIS PRODUCTION AND EFFICIENCY

Key features:

  • Access to elite cannabis strains with shorter flowering times
  • Cultural practices that produce large top colas with enhanced terpene profile and high cannabinoid potency.
  • High quality water-soluble fertilizers
  • Cost saving and automated control nutrient program adapted to each stage of cannabis production
  • Germicidal UV sterilization to remove airborne contamination of indoor spaces and surface

MICROPROPAGATION

Nomis is placing the highest priority on the identification, preservation, use and control of its genetic materials for the diversification of its production. Conservation, protection and sustainable propagation of valuable cannabis germplasm will be achieved through micropropagation technology.

Key features:

  • Multiply genetics rapidly at a low cost (few cents per plant)
  • Thousands of plants can be cultured at one time in a very small area
  • Sterile, aseptic conditions, resulting in plants that are protected efficiently against environmental stress, disease and pests
  • Space saving: hundreds of cannabis strains can be maintained safely in a genetic bank.
  • Significant cost savings for growing operations due to a reduction in space and time, and decreases the labour required to yield a marketable product.

ENVIRONMENTALLY SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES

Key features:

  • Reduction of energy consumption
  • Energy supply strategy
  • Expertise in renewable energy, both solar and wind power. One of Nomis’ long-term objective is the construction of a wind farm on the North Island Site on Vancouver Island, BC, to provide power to another cannabis production facility.
  • LED-based light solutions for optimization of indoor marijuana production
  • Green, efficient and sustainable extraction methods and techniques for cannabinoids and other biologically active metabolites

SUSTAINABLE FRESH WATER MANAGEMENT

Key features:

  • The Pemberton facility will have a self-sustaining water supply for hydroponic cultivation and processing provided by glacial spring water from on-site wells that will be filtered and monitored according to the Guidelines for Canadian Drinking Water Quality.
  • Nutrient solutions used for the cultivation of marijuana will be recovered and recycled through GAE’s innovative recirculation system. This technology will contribute to reductions in fertilizer use and, as a result, reductions in nitrate concentration in the soils, rivers and aquifers.
